Community Network

The TMT Community Network is comprised of sponsors and members working to create initiatives that create a more healthy community for children living in economically deprived areas. Our initiatives work to strengthen social networks, provide economic opportunities, examine and monitor environmental health, and strive to identify and develop community leaders. The TMT Community Network uses an asset-based community development approach to create sustainable development in communities based on their physical assets and local institutions.

Events

Our events shift conversations, inspire change, build social capital, and create long-term impact. These events inspire people to create and contribute to positive social change.

The Healthy Community Initiative is an effort to educate and raise awareness around the positive impact of 'Building Student Leaders'. We will challenge students to make a difference in thier community by committing to a service-learning project.

TMT Schools

TMT Schools focus in Science, Technology, Enigineering, Arts, and Math (S.T.E.A.M). STEAM education aims to prepare students for an unpredictable and exciting future, empowering them with advanced and high-tech tools and technology. Project-based curriculum emphasizes design, inquiry, rationality, and creativity as students draw from knowledge across multiple subject areas to solve authentic and contextualized problems.

STEAM Education is important because: We are in the midst of a transformation of the workplace from the Information Age to the Conceptual Age which has/will create a shift in employer demands. In the Information Age, a premium was placed on logical, linear, transparently organized thinking and presentation. In the dawning Conceptual Age, right-brain qualities will be more valuable: empathy, inventiveness, the ability to make large-scale connections between things and see the big picture. The future of the US economy rests on its ability to be a leader in the innovation that will be essential in creating the new industries and jobs that will be the heart of our new economy. Where the US has historically ranked 1st in innovation it now ranks between 3rd and 8th depending on the survey. We have taken steps to reverse this slide by embracing and funding the much needed improvements in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education.
